...a nationwide environment awareness programme aiming to motivate children into action
PEAS is a network of schools committed to fostering an eco-culture. Hundreds of schools are involved
and many more enrolling in this programme. Various activities that create awareness as well as action
to protect the environment are being conducted.
PEAS is primarily committed to spreading awareness that will lead to environmental action. There is need
for a commitment that comes from deep conviction. PEAS is motivating this kind of awareness amongst
school children.
Education in schools must impart all that will contribute to building responsible citizens for
tomorrow. PEAS is committed to working with schools and sharing in this responsibility.
PEAS clubs are being inaugurated in schools around the country. These clubs aim to foster environmental
values amongst its members with initiatives taken by children themselves. PEAS is committed to long term change and sees
educational activities to be the key to such change.

PEAS has 20 Coordinators in centres all over India. These volunteers assist in conducting PEAS Clubs,
distributing the PEAS publications and organising activities for children.

reached through these.
- The PEAS magazine has subscribers all over India and is growing with each issue. It is educational, informative and
inspirational. In addition, the PEAS magazine is sent to government and non government organisations and departments and to

- Children's programmes such as rallies, marches, competitions, seminars, workshops are being held regularly. Our
coordinators carefully plan these programmes.
- Teachers' programmes such as seminars and workshops are also being held. These address issues concerning education and
seek to make the school more conducive to an "eco-culture."
