Over the years, ACTS Trust, established in the eighties, has grown to provide services through the ACTS Health centre, Programme
for Environmental Awareness in Schools (PEAS), Theological Book Trust (TBT) and the ACTS Institute of Sustainable Development
(AISD). The ACTS Institute student vocational training has also provided opportunity for professional projects in interior
design, tailoring and carpentry.
PEAS works with schools to include environmental awareness among students encouraging to work towards understanding and
expressing their eco concerns. They come up with remedies that are real and within their reach. Regular programmes are held
at schools and children look forward to the annual conference. A monthly PEAS magazine is also in circulation.
AISD – ACTS Institute of Sustainable Development is an environmentally active training programme. It is concerned with the
waste management project, bio gas production, bio-energy projects, medicinal plants cultivation, organic-agricultural produce
and other eco-friendly projects.
The ACTS community health project and the ACTS hospital has conducted surveys in many villages and continues its services
to the poor and needy.
ACTS Trust, is registered as a Society and Trust in Karnataka, and has 80G recognition of the Income Tax Act. 1961 No. DIT(E)/80G/295/W-1/2004-05. The Trust is a vital arm in the ACTS Group providing government, business and commercial links to
our operations.
The 80G exemption provides opportunities for donations to be given for educational, social and environmental causes are
received and tax benefits extended to the donors. Government, corporate and individual grants and donations are accepted.
All incomes are put back into the various services of ACTS Trust. ACTS Trust has innovated various products over the
years – low cost cassette players, film strip projector, oven for grilling (in the eighties and now no longer in
production), eco-toilets, various bio gas technologies, organic vegetables etc.
